5. Is there internet access?

No, unfortunately the Italian Telecom company has not yet wired the neighborhood for high-speed internet. In town, however, there is a store with several computer stations offering very reasonably priced internet access.

If internet access is of vital importance to you, cell phone companies do offer devices costing about 200 Euros that will connect your laptop wirelessly to the internet.  For example, the Vodafone Internet Key E180 which can be purchased at Vodafone stores. It looks like a flashdrive and is both Windows- and Mac-compatible.
